    Sviluppatore: Larian Studios

    Publisher: DTP

Genere: Gioco di Ruolo d'Azione in Terza Persona

Data di Uscita: 23 Ottobre 2009

    Sito Ufficiale: http://www.divinity2.com/

    Trailer:

    http://www.gametrail...ayer/39185.html

    Character Development FAQ

    1. Can the character be customized?

You can customize your character. The visuals of the character also change when you change equipment. At the start of the game you get to choose your sex and looks. Your looks can be changed at any time in the game.

    2. Is there a difference between male and female?

The amount of dialog trees is already so large that that would've made things explode, so the differences between male/female are limited. The options for character development are quite extended though.

    3. Will there be skill combos and synergy?

The entire idea behind having a classless skill system is to actually provide both skill combos and synergy. The philosophy behind all of this goes actually one step further - by allowing equipment/stats/items and skills to affect each other, you allow for a great variety of character builds, increasing the depth of your character development system.

    4. What is the battle tower?

The battle tower acts as your home base. Here you can spend experience points to improve in a number of different areas, including necromancy, alchemy, combat skills, and enchantments. You can also spend resources to outfit runners with armor and weapons, and then send them to fetch valuable items so you can devote your time elsewhere. You can upgrade areas of the battle tower, but usually at the expense of another area. This lets you specialize in skills you're most interested in rather than level up straight across the board.

    5. Are we free to go back to quests not done yet?

In general you are free, though there are some events happening in the main story that at some point can close off some of the side quests. For instance, dragon slayer specific quests become obsolete when you become a dragon knight yourself. In general – there’s a lot of choice in the quests and they’ve tried to give all those choices cool consequences. Meaning that often entire different quest chains open up because of a choice you make. For example, there’s a quest where you have to throw out some drunkards from an inn. When you do that, an entire quest hub opens up as the people start coming back to the inn. Furthermore, depending on how you handled the quest, two very different quest chains open up too.

    6. How do you become a dragon?

You'll have to "unlock" your dragon form and all the perks that come with being a dragon knight. Your first taste of what it feels like to be a dragon is on average after a couple of hours (depending on how you play) but the real unlocking happens after you've already done some questing.

The approach in general has been that ennvironment/antagonists/story/scripting nudge you in the direction of "use dragon"/"use human"/"use both", so yes, there are things in there which you wouldn't want to handle in a human form.

    7. Does the dragon have a gender?

Yes, the gender of your avatar determines the gender of your dragon.

    8. Is the entire skill tree available from the start?

Right now the entire skill tree is available from the beginning. Some surprise skills which you discover later on in the game might be added though.

    Game Mechanics FAQ

    1. What is the story like?

The story is set a number of years after Beyond Divinity and players will learn what has happened to Rivellon since then. As a reminder, in Divine Divinity, the player becomes the Divine one and is late in preventing Damien, the child of chaos, being born. He can’t bring himself to kill the child though and takes him home to raise him as his son. In between Divine Divinity and Beyond Divinity, as told in the novella by Rhianna Pratchett, we learn that the Divine one is forced to kill his adopted son’s lover and that this event unleashes all the evil within Damien, leading to a great war between the forces of good and evil. Damien is banned to another universe but manages to escape with the help of the player, which is the story of Beyond Divinity. And now, in Divinity 2, we’ll learn what Damien did when he got back and how he corrupted the proud race of dragons to kill the Divine one. The latter is immediately the reason why dragons are hated so much in the world of Rivellon and why there are so many dragonslayers.

    2. In what way are dialogs presented?

Dialogs are presented in a cinematic way with all the graphical fluff you’d expect.

    3. How is the game controlled?

Several approaches have been tried, at the moment the best solution appears to be a keyboard controlled movement with mouse-controlled camera.

You control the camera using FPS controls and move with the WASD keys or cursor keys - that means there's no mouse cursor on screen. The mouse cursor pops up whenever necessary, e.g. when you access your inventory or quickmappings. When you move the mouse backwards, the game zooms out to a top down view, when you move the mouse forward, the game zooms to a behind the character view (as you see in the screenshots). Left/right turns the camera.

This is done the have the same type of controls for both the human and the dragon as flying with a point and click interface is difficult.

    4. Does the game has voice acting?

Yes, the game has complete voice acting. As there is nothing known about the languages the game will be at the very least in English

    5. Are there NPC schedules?

The schedules of the NPCs are done in such a way that they serve the story. There is a fairly extensive system of choices and consequences in the story, and the schedules are such that they represent those consequences. Because of this the developers had to back off a bit on the classic schedule system but it should still be a living believable world with a lot of animation going on.

    6. What perspective is the game in?

The game is primarily played in third person view. It is however possible to zoom in close to the player or out to get something like an isometric view.

    7. What is the playing time of the game?

This is unknown yet and it has everything to do with balancing as well as still having to put parts of the world together.

    8. Will there be set items?

It looks like it. Divinity 2 has a new random item generator that allows to handcraft certain items (such as set items).

    9. Is mindreading a skill?

It's a skill but the exact mechanics ares still under debate. it will however be available to you in the early part of the game

    10. Is death permanent?

Right now, death is permanent. If there are only minor consequences for dying, then there is no real suspense in dangerous areas and no tension or excitement during combat.

    11. What are the silver eyes for?

The silver eyqes allow you to see the undead and will be availabe to you when you become a Dragon slayer initiate.

    12. Can we jump and run?

Jumping/running - it's up to you if you jump or not, but if you don't you will be blocked by obstacles like a fence. Jumping gives a sense of freedom in navigating through the world. And yes, you can go to walk mode instead of running.

    13. Is Aleroth still there?

Aleroth has changed quite a bit since the first Divinity, but it is still there.

    14. Will there be different difficulty levels?

They're fooling around with the idea of multiple difficulty levels but haven't made a decision.

    Miscellaneous FAQ

    1. What game engine is used?

Graphically the engine is a mix of homebrewn technology and the Gamebryo engine, including PhysX, Kynapse and WWise middleware in there.

    2. Does the engine support Anti-Aliasing?

Yes AA is supported in the game.

    3. What platforms will the game be released for?

Divinity 2 will be released on the PC and Xbox 360. No decision has yet been made about releasing it on Playstation 3.

    4. What are the system specs?

The screenshots that are currently on the net from Geforce 8800 dual-core systems running in full HD (1080p). the target is to have it run on 7800 cards. Because the game also runs on an Xbox360, it's more optimized than if it only had been a PC game. A 360 game has to be able to run from DVD using only 512Mb, so the benefits for the PC version are clear.

    5. What interfaces will be supported?

*Currently* the PC version supports both PC & Xbox360 interfaces (they are quite different from each other). It is not determined if the games for windows label is supported. If so, that means it is to ship with controller support (as it's one of the requirements for the label).

    6. What languages will the game be in?

There's been no decisions about localization yet.

    7. Is there multiplayer support?

No. Coop multiplayer was supported for quite some time but to much sacrifice of the story depth had to be sacrificed to maintain it, so it is put on hold end of 2007. It turned out that two games had to be made if a good single player experience and a good coop multiplayer experience were required, and that just wasn't doable with the team size.

    8. Who will do the music?

Like in the other Divinity games; Kirill Pokrovsky.

    9. Why is a different font used compared to Divinity?

They wanted to make a game where people were going to say - hey, that looks and plays really cool - rather than have a game where people said - hey, that plays cool but it's a shame about the outdated technology. To reach that goal, a heavy investment in both the art and technology was made over the last years, and a radically change in their approach to development (which honestly was quite chaotic in the past). The internal quality expectations are a lot higher nowadays and they are very demanding in trying to polish things. So, the different font thing wasn't really done on purpose (actually, it was made by somebody outside the team), but it somehow symbolizes that change and it felt natural to change the look.

    10. How big is the development team?

They started on the technology in 2004 with a very small team. In 2005,2006 a few more people were added and in the middle of 2007 the team was expanded heavily.

Divine Divinity started in 1999 to be released in 2002 and Beyond Divinity started beginning of 2003 to be released in the middle of 2004.

Preparations for Divinity 2 started in 2004 and a couple of years were spent on gathering ideas, setting up processes and trying out technology. The real development only started in late 2006 and full production has been going on since late summer 2007.

    11. Why is it called Ego Draconis?

People have wondered why it is exactly Divinity II goes by the name of Ego Draconis, so here is the explanation. "Ego" is Latin for "I" and "Draconis" is the genitive of "Draco" meaning "dragon". Why then, isn't the game simply called "Ego Draco"? Well actually, there is a very good reason, namely that "Ego Draconis" is a genitive of origin. This means that Divinity II isn't called "I, dragon", but "I of dragon", or more fluently translated, "I, descendant, scion, heir or successor of the dragon". Which of these possibilities comes closest to the meaning the devloper want it to carry, or how it ties in with the story, is for you to find out when the game ships.

    Recensione!

    L'era dei draghi

Larian Studios torna a Rivellon insieme a eroi e draghi.

Divinity 2: Ego Draconis in arrivo a settembre
